In 2009, the second annual 60 secs concert is reaching for new heights, presenting the show in 4 locations: Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong and Parramatta in late August/early September.

In addition to this, a short run of CD's will also be produced, with a free copy going to each involved composer.



Brief

Compose a one-minute work for solo instrument/voice (instruments listed below) or a stereo electronic work exploring the full potential of the medium.

Who Can Submit?

Any Australian composer at any age may submit any number of pieces for 60secs.
The break down of the 60 pieces will be:

  • 5 solo pieces for each of 10 solo instruments
  • 10 stereo electronic works

Of these pieces, at least 5 will be composed by secondary school students, in order to promote the growth of new, young Australian music. Note all music submited must be unperformed and unpublished, the 60secs series should be the world premiere.

Entries must be received by 19th June 2009, Submissions open 22nd April 2009.

Submission Format

In addition to the score, a submission form MUST be attached for each piece.

Instrumental works to be submitted as either: hard-copy sheet music via post or a PDF file of the sheet music via email. Please remember to include explanation of any non-standard notation used in a performer's note.

Electronic works to be submitted on an audio CD via post or MP3 file via email. (Audio CD's will be requested if selected)
